Agriculture remains one of the most carbon-intensive industries, and new technologies are arising to reduce waste and improve agricultural practices. A circular food system produces plant biomass for human and repurposes food by-products to extend the value and usefulness of resources. Industry professionals discussed the imperative to move beyond the idea of “waste” and focus on building circular food systems to elevate food ingredients’ highest use potential.
