I bought this French cast iron enamel glazed pot to do a lot of my heavy cooking in. This one is considered a mid to high tier product that's very well priced, there are other cheaper French ones like Benzer or overseas brands like Cuisinart which might be decent too. I find that this product is a lot more similar to higher, more expensive products like Staub and Le Creuset.

Generally with the cheaper cast iron pans the enamel tends to wear out quicker and the quality control isn't the same, causing early rust, cracks or a rupture in the body of the pot. When it comes to oven baking and heavy cooking I think the price is justified! I personally really like it, it's beautiful in white, but there are other color options too. Keep in mind that you don't have to get this size, mine is 28 cm 6.1 liter or approximately 10" inches 6 quart. 4 quart is estimated to feed 2 people just fine, or 5.5 quart to feed 4 people and bake bread too.

Lastly, no matter what cast iron pot you chose, make sure it has good handles that fit your hands, as these things get very heavy and can be slippery when wet.
