The Gauteng health department says it is investigating allegations of negligence and poor patient care at Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg. Former broadcaster, Tom London, who was admitted to the hospital, made the claims in a widely circulated video on social media.
He says many patients at the hospital are being neglected, and are badly treated by staff, including doctors.
The Democratic Alliance's Jack Bloom says deaths and adverse events have increased at Helen Joseph Hospital.
