How we experience art that allows us to travel where it is necessary for us to go? Visual artist Angelika Vaxevanidou describes how art can knock us out of our normality and emotional inertia.
Angelika is an active artist with international recognition that lives and works on the Cycladic island of Paros. Her studies include a bachelor degree in Sculpture from Athens School of Fine Arts and a post graduate program entitled “Art in Context” from Universiteat der Kuenste in Berlin.
The impressive, large and sensitive pencil drawings of her have been presented in numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad and enjoy a wide and enthusiastic audience.
Angelika uses the techniques she developed to the creation of environments that isolate from external influences so as to investigate through her work the tension created between the personal and social identity of the individual. Going beyond the social influences, she is looking for freedom.
