The end of the year is almost here! As 2021 comes to a close, we’re sharing some of our favorite moments from the last 12 months, and today we're highlighting our African penguins' new home! We were thrilled to officially unveil Pinnacol African Penguin Point this past September, and our flock has been enjoying their 10,000-gallon pool, sandy beaches and multiple burrows and nesting boxes. Although endangered in their native range on the southwestern coast of Africa due to pollution, overfishing and other threats, African penguins have always had a safe place to call home here at Denver Zoo.
