In Demon Slayer it seems like everyone has a sad backstory or ending, as you’ve seen already this even extends to their special birds. Previously we’ve discussed how the Kasugai Crows are all raised by Ubuyashiki and Amane, but they have their own personalities and lives and even have a sort of society amongst eachother. Muichiro Tokito’s bird is named Ginko which he likely named himself, after the Ginko trees that surrounded his mountainside home which is just another sign of Tokito’s memories leaking out. Ginko, just like Muichiro’s swordsmith is actually really worried about the Mist Hashira and dotes on him a lot like a mother bird, and the two remain close because Ginko doesn’t get along with other crows, however when Tokito dies during the battle against Upper Moon 1, the bird loses a ton of weight and needs to be nursed back to health, which Tanjiro’s crow does allowing the two birds to fall in love and even get… married?
