"The screening would take about three seconds. During that time the X-ray is happening. The image is sent to an operator typically at a remote location so the operator doesn't see the passenger. And, what you start looking for are things hidden on the body. We can clearly see the lavaliere mic, we're looking for anything hidden on the body. We can see the mic. And, as we zoom in, we can see the explosive stimulant, that's actually liquid explosive stimulant hidden in my coat pocket. You can see the pipe bomb, a plastic pipe bomb with a detonation cord around it. Here in my pocket there is a gun, and over here is that nail polish bottle that we clearly detect in that inspection."
27. "Secure 1000" Zoom and Brightness Controls
28. SOUNDBITE: (English) Peter Kant, VP-Global Governmental Affairs, Rapiscan Systems:
"I definitely think it would make it both safer and faster, because with just one scan, you can scan for metals, and explosives and any hazardous objects. You wouldn't need to go through layers of security, a metal detector, a puffer machine, a pat down search, you would simply need to go through one scan."
