Hi Everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For all of you that have asked to see my dad in a video, well here he is! He made our delicious turkey this Thanksgiving, and I am grateful that I was able to document it! Enjoy!
Recipes in this video:
The Perfect Roast Turkey-
1 stick of melted butter
1 lemon, zested and juiced (we forgot to add this in...but it still turned out delicious!)
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme (added into the melted butter)
1 turkey (10-12 lb)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large bunch of fresh thyme, rosemary, parsley
1 onion (quartered)
1 head garlic (cut in half)
Melt the butter and add in chopped fresh thyme. Salt and pepper the inside of the turkey. Add in fresh herbs in the cavity of the turkey. Brush butter on the outside of the turkey and inside if possible. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Roast the turkey for approximately 2 1/2 hours or until it gets to 165 degrees.
Apple Crisp:
3/4 C. all purpose flour
1/4 C. packed light brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C plus 2 T granulated sugar
1 stick unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
1 C. rolled oats
3 pounds apples (peeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
2 T fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
For apple filling:
Mix together apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice together and set aside.
For crumble:
(With 2 knives) mix together flour, brown sugar, salt, rolled oats and 2 T. granulated sugar.
Pour apples into a 9x11 baking dish. Pour crumble over and bake.
Bake at 375 degrees for 50 min.
