The Civil Society Awards (formerly known as the Social Entrepreneurship Awards) honor exceptional nonprofit leaders who, with the help of volunteers and private philanthropy, have helped change the course of people’s lives by developing solutions to emerging needs and social challenges in their communities.
To support and reinvigorate this tradition, the Manhattan Institute established the Social Entrepreneurship initiative in 2001, now known as the Tocqueville Project and the Civil Society Awards program.
