Kyiv faced the largest Russian air attack in months, with sirens blaring and air defences engaging. Despite intercepting 102 missiles and 99 drones, 25 missiles and 10 drones still struck various targets, including a hydroelectric power plant north of Kyiv. The attacks also targeted power plants across Ukraine, causing significant damage to the energy sector. Ukrainian authorities, led by the president, promised swift repairs. Residents, accustomed to these attacks, found ways to cope amid the ongoing conflict, which shows no signs of abating.
Al Jazeera’s Alex Gatopoulos reports from Kyiv.
