These are drills with buillt in depth stops and are actually intended for freehand surgery. However, the fact that the stops are uniform thickness with parallel sides allows them to be used in a guided approach if you desire. This approach is especially helpful in tight mesial-distal sites since no metal guide tube is required and the drill stops are just barely larger than the drills themselves.
