You can make this! In this upcycling tutorial, we will create a luscious pink velvet and lace / crochet topper / duster using pre owned velvet clothes and lace. You do not need to be an expert sewist or have fancy equipment to create beautiful wearable art. This lovely piece is made from two velvet tops, a skirt and vintage lace. We will make ruffles, flared sleeves, ribbon ties and lace border trim. After the sewing is done, we will dye the lace on the stove top with Rit dye. The dying process gives this a wonderfully aged appearance. This piece is sure to get attention, so be prepared to get stopped in the street and answer some questions. Most of all...have fun!
