A Federal heavy recovery tow truck and an Pacific Tank Transporter as see at the 2021 ATHS National Show in Harrisonburg, VA.
The Federal was primarily used by Allied air forces for recovery and salvage of aircraft. The typical engine of the time was a Hercules gas engine but this example has an immaculate Detroit Diesel.
The Pacific tank transporter seen here is an unarmored variant. With multiple winches and a 40 foot trailer it quickly became the best vehicle for the transport of Allied tanks in all theaters. Hal-Scott diesel engines were common in these trucks.
