Dr Steffi Mac emphasized on bone marrow transplant in this talk. India being the country with the highest young population can build the largest registry in the world for the Bone Marrow Transplant. Her survival and recovery from blood cancer is the greatest example ofle how it can save a precious life. Bone marrow transplant helps patients of blood cancer, Thalassemia & Aplastic Anemia. Dr. Steffi Mac (Ph.D., English) is an academic who is perpetually torn between the pages and the screen. An enthusiast and admirer of literature and films alike, she pursues her professional stints in the fields of teaching, writing, corporate training, media and mass communication. She is also a cancer survivor (Leukemia) and has authored a book, That Girl in the Black Hat, voicing her thoughts on battling the disease and surviving. She is a strong propagator of bone marrow registration and aims to aid Indian Registries with the same. She counsels several patients who struggle fighting cancer today and has founded a YouTube Channel Can We Not wherein she shares her opinions on cancer care and support. As the Director of Creative Content at Ayurway (Pleasanton, California), she writes to promote integrated health care and lifestyle. She is engaged in research in the areas of communications, films, literature and medical humanities.
