U.S. and Japan Air Self-Defense Force Airmen conduct close air support training at the Farallon de Medinilla range, Northern Mariana Islands, during Exercise Cope North 20, February 17, 2020. Cope North 20 is an annual trilateral field training exercise conducted at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, and around the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Palau and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia. Its goal is to improve combat readiness, develop integrated humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, and increase interoperability of U.S. Forces, Royal Australian Air Force, and Koku Jieitai (Japan Air Self-Defense Force).
