Most catfish fishermen turn to cut bait for catfish in the winter, but some folks insist on using live bait for catfish bait. Catfishing with live bait is usually associated with flathead fishing, but many catfish anglers insist on using live bait for blue cats even in colder temperatures. I prefer cut bait in the winter, but both baits will catch fish.
