Today's vlog is about an easy Pastel Bread Recipe. Pastel is a Filipino soft bun with custard (yema) filling originating from the province of Camiguin.

The ingredients that you will need are:
For the bun:
1 cup milk
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening softened to room temperature
1 pack of active dry yeast (7grams)
2 tbsp of sugar
1/4 cup warm water
3 1/2 cup plain flour plus more if needed
3 egg yolks
1tsp salt
Yema Filling:
1 can condensed milk
1/4 cup fresh milk or evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cornflour diluted in 2 tsp of water
⅛ cup of unsalted butter
3 egg yolks
Preheat oven to 150 C
