The iconic 1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was introduced in 1949 as part of Cadillac's Series 62 line as a luxury two-door coupe, and it was Cadillac's first pillarless hardtop. The Coupe DeVille set records for Cadillac in sales and is one of Cadillac's longest and most successful production models. Customizers have long coveted the 1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille to create works of art.
Designed by professional customizer Bob Falleur, with bodywork by Mike McKennett, "Kul Kad" is a tribute to the great tradition of American automotive customizing. The car underwent a complete professional mechanical and cosmetic rebuild finished with a beautiful custom paint color. The car has been chopped by two and one-half inches, and much of the stock Cadillac chrome trim has been removed, creating a sleek and elegant silhouette. The Kul Kad features include an all-leather gray interior with plush BMW bucket seats, a center console stereo with AM/FM cassette and a 12-disc CD changer, electric seat controls, and wool carpet.
The Kad is powered by Cadillac's V8 331 cubic inch engine with a 1958 Cadillac El Dorado Tri-Power carburetion. It rides on air suspension controlled by an onboard compressor for rear leveling. It also has a tilt column with a custom Le-Carra steering wheel and sits on a set of new tires with Chrome Kelsey-Hayes type wheels (that were an available option in 1955) with Cadillac Logo Hubcaps.
