Sweet and Sour Pork aka 咕老肉, Ku Lu Yuk, Ku Lou Yuk or Gu Lou Yuk is an all time Chinese cooking classic. The key to the perfect sauce is getting the right balance between sweet and sour!

This recipe is straightforward and definitely one for the keeps. Swap out pork with chicken thigh for a sweet and sour chicken dish!

Ingredients:
200g pork shoulder / chicken thigh
1 tsp light soy sauce
1 tsp rice wine
1 tsp corn flour
½ red bell pepper
½ green bell pepper
2 pcs of pineapple rings
Batter:
½ cup plain flour
¼ cup corn flour
1 tsp baking soda
pinch Salt
1 tsp cooking oil
1 egg
½ cup water
Sauce:
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp plum sauce
½ tsp rice vinegar
½ tsp worcestershire
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp corn flour
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp water
1 clove of garlic
