US President-elect Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to delay an upcoming TikTok ban while he works on a "political resolution". Trump "seeks the ability to resolve the issues at hand through political means once he takes office". The US top court is set to hear TikTok's case, opposing the law that requires its Chinese owner, ByteDance, to either sell the platform to an American firm or face a ban, starting from 19 January.
