So about this University of Phoenix settlement.
Three things.
First, it applies only to private student loan debt owed to the University of Phoenix. So if you have federal student loans for a UoP education, you're still stuck with those loans.
Second, it applies only to students who attended the school from October 2012-End of 2016. So if you attended outside of that time period, you're not included...in this lawsuit.
Finally, if you're included in this lawsuit, you don't need to do anything to get your balance wiped out. The UoP is supposed to contact you in the next few weeks with a letter stating that your loan balance owed to the school will be wiped out in 45 days.
