America is, once again, stunned and left uncomfortably numb by bloodshed at a college campus. A University of North Carolina faculty member was shot dead in a campus shooting on the 28th of August.
The attack led to a three-hour lockdown of the campus. Shocked and confused students and faculty barricaded themselves in dorm rooms, offices and classrooms. An hour and a half after shots were reported, a suspect was apprehended who has since been charged with first-degree murder. The motive of the attack though, remains unclear.
