I’m excited to share my newest painting with you: Rhythm. This piece marks a return to botanical themes, something I did miss and felt inspired to revisit after the amazing requests from so many of you. Taking things slower this past month gave me the freedom to explore this style again.
Rhythm features a fresh autumn palette, full of warmth and vibrancy, yet it feels light and flowing at the same time. This painting is special for a couple of reasons: it’s the first botanical work I’ve done without adding the usual fluid white contrast. Normally, I feel like the composition needs that extra pop, but this time the vegetated leaves (those seperated brushstroke shapes) and overlapping stems spoke for themselves. I absolutely love how they turned out! There’s a simplicity to this piece that feels just right—the colors, the composition, everything clicked for me in a way that feels effortless.
Another thing I adore about Rhythm is the background. While it’s not painted on raw canvas, it gives me that same feeling—a beautiful, natural texture that enhances the organic flow of the leaves.
