In this video, Costas Lyssiotis, Ph.D. discusses the research his lab does to understand the metabolic properties of pancreatic cancer cells. The goal of this research is to be able to compare the metabolic properties of pancreatic cancer cells to that of normal cells, and use those findings to hopefully identify new drug targets and establish new therapeutic approaches for treating pancreatic cancer.

In pursuit of better treatments and a cure, researchers have come together in collaboration through the Rogel Cancer Center at Michigan Medicine to form the Pancreatic Cancer Research Initiative, where new approaches, including investigating the function and potential application of immune-based therapies, are being researched.
