Have you ever wondered how japanese farmers make those really square watermelons? Well in the nineteen-seventies, a japanese artist created these watermelons to better fit in refrigerators and slice into pieces. The process starts by putting a growing watermelon in a strong plastic cube and waiting for it to grow. This allows the watermelon to absorb sunlight and shape into the cubic shape, and it can be done for many different shapes as well. This makes it possible to grow them at home and they often sell for up to two hundred dollars.
