Have you ever wondered why there are U.S. Embassies overseas and who works there? Were you ever curious about what diplomats do and how they serve the American people? Or who provides assistance in an international disaster?
To complement the Faces of Diplomacy exhibit now on view at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC, the U.S. Diplomacy Center is proud to sponsor a Google+ Hangout session in which practitioners from the field will discuss their work in diplomacy.
Moderated by Kathy A. Johnson, Director of the U.S. Diplomacy Center, discussions will focus on the roles of U.S. diplomats, what skills are needed to do their work, and how to become involved in a career in diplomacy.
Faces of Diplomacy is a U.S. Diplomacy Center preview exhibit highlighting some of the talented Americans who are the face of our nation while serving abroad. They come from various regions, have different educational backgrounds, and perform a wide variety of duties in their efforts to promote peace and prosperity on behalf of the American people.
The exhibit is organized by the U.S. Department of State and generously funded by Wallis Annenberg and the Annenberg Foundation through the Diplomacy Center Foundation.
