TV's like these were used back in the day at bus stops, restaurants, laundromats, airports, almost anywhere people had to wait for a service. However this one has been on display with other collectibles in my home and used very little since I purchased it more than ten years ago as new, old stock. It still looks and works as good as the day I got it and would be ideal for a TV or coin-op collector or just someone who likes what they see here! Read on...
To operate, you deposit one quarter for exactly 15 minutes of TV or AM/FM radio time. The 5 1/2" (diagonally measured) TV delivers a beautiful black/white picture. Though the TV tuner is analog, it works because it has a an antenna input connector and plug with a matching transformer adaptor (both included) to connect to your cable/satellite provider or digital-to-analog converter box (for over the air channels). It is simple to hook-up to the source of your choice. Refer to photos 5-7 to see the included plug/adaptor and where it plugs into the back of the set. The built-in AM/FM radio will pick up your local over-the-air stations without any other connections.
The construction of this vending TV is exceptional with a black steel encasement and heavy-duty stainless steel money tray (includes two keys). The entire unit measures 9 1/2:" W x 8 1/2" H x 10 1/2" D and weighs about 14 pounds (non-shipping weight) according my scale. This vintage coin-op vending TV is hard to find, especially a quality name-brand like Panasonic (instead of an off-brand) plus has a built-in AM/FM radio where most others (if you can even find one) do not. In addition, this model is configured to use an external source for the TV so you may watch your favorite shows once you easily connect the antenna input to cable, satellite, or a converter box (for free over-the-air signals) that can be purchased at your local electronics store (or eBay). AC operation only.
