The Grand Canyon Of The Yellowstone North Rim Drive follows the Canyon itself, from the Lower Yellowstone Falls to Inspiration Point.
As you pull off the Grand Loop Road, the first parking lot you come to houses the trailhead to the Brink of the Lower Falls. This is a steep switchback walk down to the waterfall, and many people find the trip back challenging, especially as you are at altitude. There are places along the path, however, where you can take a break.
When you get back to the top, you'll find that there is a trail which follows the road, offering great vantage points of the Canyon. We have virtual Yellowstone tours of this North Rim Trail hike, as well as the South Rim Trail hike, in other virtual Yellowstone tours in our channel.
Coming up are the three main viewpoints on the North Rim Drive. These are Lookout Point, Grand View Point and Inspiration Point. Each offers expansive vistas of the Canyon and the Yellowstone River, with the first and last viewpoints also providing views of the Lower Falls.
