NFFN Scotland has come together with a unique partnership of organisations to support the transition to agroecological practices in Scotland through a practical knowledge exchange programme.
Over the past year, six groups of farmers, crofters and growers from across Scotland were supported to host a series of farm and croft visits and webinars, each sharing their experiences and learning about their journeys towards regenerative and sustainable agriculture.
NFFN with RSPB Scotland worked alongside a group of farmers and crofters on Islay and Jura with a focus on supporting the existing practice of high nature value farming and crofting on the islands and the opportunities and challenges that entails.
This film documents the project and sets out how support might be better aligned as Scotland enters a period of agricultural transition with a new Agriculture Bill, payments framework and Biodiversity Strategy.
The project 'Agroecology: Enabling the Transition' is funded by the Scottish Government's Knowledge Transfer Innovation Fund. It's delivered in partnership by the Nature Friendly Farming Network, Nourish Scotland, Soil Association Scotland, Pasture for Life, Landworkers' Alliance and Propagate.
