Buen Camino our Fellow Pilgrims. Day 1 of our Camino Primitivo as part of our 50 Adventures Over 50

Starting off in Oviedo Spain, walking about 12km to Escamplero.

Hard getting out of the city, but once you find the WAY there is no shortage of signs, arrows, shells, and posts for you to follow. The up and down is always fun, I found it easier day 1 than the Camino Frances and also easier than the Porto way. Mostly the City is the hard part of both Oviedo and Porto. I will say I am really enjoying this Camino. Hardly saw any Pilgrims (a hand full maybe 7 - 9) which being a Holy Year and so many Starved for the Camino over the past few years I thought it would be busier than it is. Which is fortunate. The Camino Frances (Starting in SJPDP) is seeing 400+ Pilgrims a day starting, so I was surprised it was almost 11am before I saw my first pilgrim.
