Ballistic Hydra Case - FAIL Waterproof Test - iPhone Cases

Ballistic Hydra tough iPhone 5 case is suppose to be Waterproof up to 7 feet up to 30min. Ballistic also claims that it meet Military specifications and IP-68 requirements.
In order to test if this case is waterproof, we placed the Ballistic Hydra tough iPhone 5 case into a glass bowl full of water. The Ballistic recommended test only asks for the case to be submerged in water for 10 min, since it meets Military Specs and IP-68 specs, then it should withstand being in water for 1 hour at the depth of 6 feet.

This iPhone 5 case failed just past the 10 min mark, and then every time we water tested the case the results were worse. Currently the case fails immediately after it is submerged into water. We noticed that the water seeps through the bottom-right hand corner.

We have contacted Ballistic and are currently awaiting a replacement case.

CAUTION: The lesson learned from this is that the waterproof testing before iPhone installation is a MUST.
