(Warning, its a long one that may be boring for the pros, but its information I'd like to put out.)
After a live with Kris (@BudgetingJustBecause ) I thought I should look into my Cash Binders and see exactly what my envelope categories are looking like these days.
As efficient a budgeter I like to think I am, when asked how many cash stuffing categories I had, I could not give an answer.
I think it is a good idea to look at your system every now and then to see if you have any room for adjustments. In this video I go over my monthly cash budget, looking at all of my sinking fund categories, take a step back and revisit why and how my budget was put together and I give a little insight on how to start the cash envelope budgeting system. I did not go into savings challenges so much, but for me, the way I add money into most of my sinking funds and savings is equivalent to using savings challenges.
