I decided to take the leap into natural cat litters, starting with the OKO brand and going with their Less Mess version.

*I noticed the Purina Tidy Cats storefront now sells their charcoal litter in more eco-friendly packaging. It's posted but unavailable to purchase, but I hope it comes back. I've seen this at all pet stores but also in Walmart and Target stores.

I spent a long time exploring clay litters which is how I decided the Tidy Cats charcoal litter (Naturally Strong) was the best -- minimal dust, powerful clumping, and great odor elimination. I still recommend it! But it didn't seem as eco-friendly or as good for my sensitive lungs. I needed to know if natural cat litters are better.
My local pet store only carried 2 versions of OKO: Original and Less Mess. (There are currently 4 versions out there.) However, the Original constantly goes out of stock, which is why my first step into natural litters was Less Mess - the chunkiest.
I plan to review each OKO litter, other wood litters on the market, and experiment with blending. Hopefully, I can answer: is OKO the best natural cat litter? I'll also be upgrading the litter box enclosure situation. More videos to come! Subscribe!
