My Soul to Take is the first film Wes Craven has written and directed since New Nightmare, which would put it somewhere in the realm of seventeen years since the horror icon has brought a tale he penned to the big screen. It tells the story of troubled schizophrenic named Abel, who hides his disease and his other five personalities from a pregnant wife and small child. Soon a new voice, "The Riverton Ripper," starts bending his ear and twisting his arm, with bloody results. On his deathbed, Abel, who is now totally over taken by The Ripper, vows his revenge on the other personalities.
