Israeli elections can be confusing for the uninitiated, including for some olim chadashim (new immigrants) who have the right to vote but might be totally disoriented by the multiplicity of parties, the issues that are suddenly presented as life-or-death and the accusations of being "left" or "right" - with the terms meaning different things depending on who is using them.
