Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on Hindi being a unifier for the nation has stirred up a hornet's nest. The latest leader to come out in opposition of the Home Minister's push for Hindi is Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Calling it a war-cry against mother tongues of non-Hindi speaking people, Vijayan said Shah's assertions were absurd. Protests by pro-kannada groups broke out in part of Karnataka on Saturday, and several leaders such as Asaduddin Owaisi and MK Stalin voiced their concern over the imposition of Hindi.
