Follow alongside with me as I walk you through replacing your lower ball joints for you GMC ENVOY or Chevy Trailblazer. This is for the year models of 2002-2007.
Tools you will need
• Ball Joint
• Ball joints Press kit and adapter set (rented & money back upon return)
• Set of protective gloves
• 10mm 14mm 15mm 17mm 18mm 19MM 21mm 22mm & 24mm sockets or impact sockets(preferred)
• 10mm 14mm 22mm wrench
• Rubber & Metal Hammer
• (2) Flathead screwdrivers, Short & Long
• Impact Gun (optional) makes it easier
• 1/2 ratchet, 3/8 ratchet
• 1/2 or 3/8 Breaker Bar (1/2 preferred)
• Metal pipe for leverage
• Jack & Jack stands
• penetrating oil
•Storage pan for bolts and tools
• Bottle of water
• A day to work on this project
You can do this project without an impact gun using an 1/2 wrench! I did it for my passenger side. Upon doing this driver side, I decided to invest in a corded impact gun to make the job more simple.
