Training to become a Probation & Parole Officer is all about hard work, serving the community, and building a strong team with fellow officers. Recently, Basic Officer Training Course (BOTC) #24 cadets deepened that experience while participating in a volunteer Day of Service with our friends at Community Collaboration of Delaware, Phoenix Used Clothing, Forget Me Not Families, and Attack Addiction. Cadets organized donated items for the community, held an open and candid dialog with residents who are in recovery from addiction, and spent time cleaning up New Castle County Delaware's Lt. Szczerba Memorial Park which honors a New Castle County Police Lieutenant who was killed in the line-of-duty in 2011.
We also thank New Castle County Police and New Castle City Police for collaborating with our BOTC cadet class and demonstrating for our future Probation Officers the true definition of teamwork in law enforcement by working together to make our neighborhoods cleaner, brighter, and safer places to live, work, and play. #DOCProud #Community #Teamwork
