This particular Lancaster, known as Vera, is the last remaining airworthy Canadian-built Lanc, and one of only two in the world in flying condition. Here, Vera’s port side features special markings honoring the 75th anniversary (in 2018) of the RAF 617 Squadron Dambusters raid. Wing Commander Guy Gibson’s aircraft, AJ-G, had two Canadians on board when he led the daring mission in May 1943.
Vera is proudly flown and maintained by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
