"Concurrency Oriented Software"
Concurrent languages are functional. To quote Simon Peyton-Jones, they might not be called functional, but a lot of their features will be inspired by the functional paradigm. When we created Erlang, we were heavily influenced by functional languages, as they provided a solution to some of the problems we set out to solve. In this keynote, we will discuss some of these features, how they relate to concurrency, and explain why they are even more relevant today than what they were back then.
