Prevent damage to your power steering pump back-plate by properly installing the pulley.
Instructions:
1) Lubricate the pump shaft with an extreme pressure lubricant (0:57)
**This will decrease the amount of pressure needed to press the pulley into place (1:00)
2)Ensure the pulley is clean of any debris or damage (1:05)
3) Lightly lubricate the shaft bore (1:09)
4) Put the pulley on the shaft and thread the power steering pulley tool onto the shaft (1:11)
**It's important to make sure that the pulley is on straight before applying any load (1:15)
5) Using a large wrench, turn the installation nut clockwise until the pulley is tightened in place (1:19)
6) Remove the tool and you're finished (1:25)
