During the 58th session of The Storyyellers, Deepak shared an incident that profoundly shaped him.

In his school days, Deepak was often bullied for his weight and called by hurtful names. However, as he transitioned from grade 7 to grade 8, he began to accept himself. This self-acceptance gradually helped him come out of his shell, transforming from an introvert to an extrovert. He started to notice a shift in himself—he felt he was becoming funnier. Over time, he embraced this side of him and became the kind of student who would make others laugh. By grade 10, this had become his identity.

After completing grade 10, it was time to choose a career. His parents told him to pursue science. Though he completed his studies in science during his higher secondary education, he had plans to go abroad afterward. However, just as he was preparing, the devastating earthquake of 2015 changed everything. This not only disrupted his plans but also made it financially impossible for his family to afford study abroad.

With his overseas plans failing, Deepak decided to pursue engineering. After completing his degree, he began working, but soon after starting his job, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Unfortunately, the financial instability of the company he worked for led to him being laid off.

Stuck at home, he found himself wondering what to do next. Unable to generate income for his family, this marked a turning point in Deepak’s life.
