I would argue the it's a small world Holiday version is better than the original "it's a small world." With it's different tunes and flashy lights and decorations, the "it's a small world" Holiday shines at Disneyland during the winter season. While the original "it's a small world" ride debuted at the 1964 World's Fair and was moved to Disneyland in 1966, the holiday version began in 1997 and has been operating seasonally ever since.
