Video shared by passengers taking the Metro in Paris, France, showed overcrowded trains and stations on the morning of October 8, the day after French authorities reported an all-time daily high for new COVID-19 cases, according to France24.
According to the RER B line’s Twitter account, trains were delayed during rush hour due to equipment problems, leading to overcrowding.
Video recorded by Twitter user @boudimir shows masked passengers tightly packed in a train on the RER B Metro line.
French health authorities reported 18,746 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over 24 hours on Wednesday, October 7 – compared with 10,489 the day before. The number of new cases was above 18,000 for a second day on Thursday, October 8.
