Researchers from UNC-Chapel Hill and Universidad San Francisco de Quito have partnered to create a biobank at the Galapagos Science Center. The biobank holds collected samples from across the Galapagos and will allow for the preservation of natural resources while providing opportunities to study different aspects of evolutionary biology, population and ecosystem health, and analysis of environmental contaminants.
The Galapagos Science Center is a partnership between UNC-Chapel Hill and Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador with a mission to conduct research projects across the archipelago to preserve the islands for future generations.
