This video will help you diagnose a bad inverter on a variable speed compressor. You really can’t tell if it is good or bad really. You check the winding in the compressor and the input to the inverter. If those check good you try out the inverter. Compressors can be bad mechanically. You won’t know until you put in a new inverter. Anyways good luck!
