People living in New Delhi are waking up to thick, toxic smog after air pollution reached its worst level this season.
Authorities in India’s capital shut schools, paused construction and banned non-essential trucks from entering the city on Monday.
Classes for most school grades are being held online, while trucks carrying essential items only will be allowed in the city.
India’s pollution control authority has classified the air in Delhi as “severe plus” after the city passed 450, according to its measurements today.
