A teenager faces rape charges after police say she had sex with a child.18-year-old Alora Jones surrendered to deputies at the sheriff's department Wednesday. She made her first court appearance this morning at the Madison County courthouse in Marshall.The 18-year-old is charged with two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child under ten years old. Deputies say the first-degree rape charge means she had intercourse with the child.
Deputies say the she had intercourse with the boy twice in the past six months. They say she was taking care of the child at the time, primarily as a babysitter. Neighbors who know Alora Jones and her family say its hard to understand how this happened.The judge set Alora Jones bond at $275,000 secured and $750,000 unsecured.
