We shot 4K video with the Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7S cameras and uploaded those tests to YouTube. We connected both cameras to a Blackmagic HyperDeck Studio—the GH4 via SDI output on its YAGH Interface Unit and the Sony A7S via HDMI—and recorded RAW 4K video to an SSD.
Using this setup, the GH4 output 10-bit 4:2:2 4K video, while the A7S did 8-bit 4:2:2. These are the two highest-quality 4K options possible with these cameras.
