A late season major winter storm brought heavy snow, powerful winds leading to multiple vehicle accidents on major roads and interstates.
Over 4" of snow had fallen by 10 AM in and around Hazelton, PA as heavy snow was still falling. Strong winds and visibility less than 1/10th of a mile caused treacherous travel conditions across Luzerne County.
PennDOT and municipal plow teams were out but unable to keep up with the heavy snowfall.
